Sticky Advertising fingers

So, I first heard about this ad for Pringles when I was reading this design, advertising, everything creative blog, notcot.org. First looking at it, I thought it was very creative and liked it immediately. But after reading posts and going to a link, I learned that this advertisement was strangely similar to a CD cover from the band Circa Survive off their album “On Letting Go.” A lot of advertising is taking inspiration from things you see, whether it be from movies, other advertisements or things you see walking to class, but this advertisement obviously took a lot from the CD cover. I am unsure on how I feel about this blatant copying, but I wanted to see what other peoples opinions were. Did the firm “Callegari Berville Grey” out of Paris, France take too much inspiration? Or is the argument “nothing is original these days” valid for this ad?
