Wendy’s…is it true?

From Andrew Rossi:

I want to post a Wendy’s Advertisement that claims that Wendy’s is a step above fast food, as the tagline reads, “It’s not fast food, it’s Wendy’s.”  I find this advertisement particularly interesting because of how ridiculously exaggerated it is.  Clearly Wendy’s, in terms of quality, is similar to McDonalds, Burger King, Jack in the Box, or Carl’s Jr.  While other burger chains have made claims of a high quality, I feel as though these Wendy’s ads are taking it a little too extreme.  How do you guys feel about brands making claims that are clearly a stretch, and in some cases, largely untrue?  Is it their right?  Or do they have an obligation to be truthful to the public?
